Choosing a wedding florist in Venice

Start from the venue and the season. The best flowers are the ones grown nearby at that time of year, and a local florist knows the suppliers, the distances and the venue's rules. Ask for photos of set-ups in the same venue or similar spaces, and for a quote with separate lines: bouquet, ceremony, centrepieces, installations, set-up and breakdown.

Many Italian villas work with approved suppliers or set tight set-up times: check with the venue before you sign with a florist. Planning from abroad, look at the languages each florist speaks and ask whether they work by video call and visit the venue for you.

How much does a wedding florist cost in Venice?

It depends on guest numbers, flowers, season and how much is decorated: bouquets and centrepieces cost far less than arches and hanging installations. Ask for an itemised quote in euros and compare two or three.

How far ahead should I book?

For a high-season wedding, book many months ahead, right after the venue: the most sought-after florists only take a few events per weekend.

Do they speak English?
