A wedding in Campania

In Campania you can marry in very different settings just a few kilometres apart. Naples has baroque churches, historic palazzi in the centre and seaside villas in Posillipo. On the Sorrento peninsula, around Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, Massa Lubrense and Vico Equense, hotels with clifftop terraces and citrus gardens are the norm. Traditions and the size of the party

Weddings in Campania are often big: many guests, long receptions, full churches. For the floral designer that means more centrepieces, more arrangements and more hours of work. Logistics in and around Naples

The centre of Naples has limited traffic zones (ZTL), narrow alleys and few loading bays: the van needs an agreed time slot and the flowers are often carried by hand for the last stretch. Traffic can add a lot of time, especially on Saturday afternoons. Roads towards Sorrento and the Cilento are slower than you might expect, and busier in summer.

Climate, seasons and local flowers

The climate is mild and the wedding season is long, from April to October. In summer the humid heat tires the flowers: arrangements with water and hardy varieties work best. The landscape offers lemons, oranges, bougainvillea, jasmine, olive and myrtle. Many couples ask for a nod to citrus, but the style choice is yours.
