Glossary term

Floral arch

A structure dressed with flowers and foliage that frames the couple during the ceremony, often outdoors.

A floral arch is the most requested backdrop for outdoor ceremonies and for a symbolic ceremony. The base can be a round arch, a square frame, a ground-level semicircle or two flower columns. The price depends on size, flower density and structure: fully covered or dressed only in part.

Outdoors, stability is key: it needs weights or anchoring, and flowers with a water source. After the ceremony the arch can move behind the top table or to the photo corner. The guide on floral arches and ceremony backdrops explains shapes and costs; the one on hiring vases and structures clarifies what is hired; the one on the wet weather plan tells you what happens if it rains.

What to ask: how it is secured, whether the structure is hired, and who moves it and when.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to set up a floral arch?

It depends on size and density: from an hour for a ground-level semicircle to several hours for a fully covered arch. Ask the venue about access times before you confirm.

Can the arch be reused at the reception?

Often yes, if it is light or on wheels. Build the move into the quote and the timings, because the team does it while guests are at the drinks reception.
