A banquet table, which Italians call tavolo imperiale, is one long rectangular table, or several pushed together, instead of round tables. It is very popular for receptions in gardens, masserie (Apulian farmhouses) and villas. It changes the logic of the flowers: not one centrepiece per table, but a continuous design down the middle.
The most common options are a garland of foliage with flowers, a row of low bud vases, or arrangements repeated at intervals, often with candles. The price is worked out per linear metre. The guide on centrepiece prices compares costs; the one on wedding centrepieces shows ideas; the one on foliage in wedding flowers explains which leaves last a whole evening.
What to ask: how many metres of table there are, how much space is left for bottles and platters, and whether candles are allowed.
