Bridal bouquet

The flowers the bride carries: shape, flowers and size are chosen with the dress, the season and the ceremony.

The bridal bouquet is the most photographed piece of the wedding flowers. The main shapes are round, cascade, asymmetric, loose and clutch. The choice starts from the dress, your build and the type of ceremony: for a civil wedding at the town hall a smaller bouquet is often enough.

The price depends on the flowers, the size and the time it takes to make, not only on the number of stems. Indicative price ranges are in the guide on how much a bridal bouquet costs; styles in the guide to the bridal bouquet; flowers by month in the one on the seasonal bridal bouquet.

What to ask: how heavy it is, how it copes with heat, whether a separate toss bouquet is planned, and what time it will be delivered. To keep it after the party, read how to preserve your bouquet.

Frequently asked questions

When is the bridal bouquet delivered?

Usually on the morning of the wedding, to wherever the bride is getting ready, together with buttonholes and corsages. Agree the time in writing.

Does the bouquet have to match the dress?

Not necessarily in colour, but it should in proportion: a very simple dress can carry a full bouquet, while a statement dress usually looks better with something lighter.
