The site visit (sopralluogo in Italian) is the visit to the church, villa or garden with your florist, usually after the first meeting and before the final design. Tables, doorways, ceilings and distances get measured; you look at the light at the time of the ceremony; you ask where to unload, where the sockets and water are, and what rules the venue has.
Many surprises on the wedding day come from a skipped site visit: a narrow staircase, a ceiling with no hooks, a ban on candles. For destination weddings it is sometimes done by video call, or the florist goes alone. The guide to the site visit with your florist gives a checklist of what to look at; the one on how to choose a florist explains when to ask for one; the wedding flower timeline places it in the months before.
What to ask: whether the site visit is included in the quote or charged separately, who will attend, what gets written down afterwards.
