In short
- Three built examples, with indicative figures: micro wedding, villa with church, destination wedding.
- In all three the biggest lines are tables and ceremony designs, not the bouquet.
- Transport, set-up, breakdown and travel are real lines: in the examples they are listed separately.
- VAT (IVA) is added at the bottom to show how much it adds to the total.
Reading a quote is easier once you have seen one. This guide shows three wedding flower quote examples, written the way an Italian florist would write them, for three different weddings. The figures are indicative and are there to show how the total is built, not to set a fair price. Use the examples to ask better questions of whoever sends you a real offer.
How to read the examples
Each quote has the same structure: personal flowers, ceremony, reception, services, VAT. The prices are plausible assumptions for fresh seasonal flowers and vary a lot between regions and florists. VAT is calculated at 22%, Italy's standard rate, purely as an example: the actual rate depends on how the florist classifies the work, with their accountant, and you should ask.
If you want to see who works on weddings closest to yours, browse the list of wedding florists in Italy or the professionals used to destination weddings in Italy, who also handle elopements and micro weddings.
Example 1: micro wedding, 20 guests
Civil ceremony in a town hall room, then lunch at an agriturismo (a working farm with hospitality) on two long banquet tables. Natural style, seasonal flowers, plenty of foliage.
| Item | Quantity | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|
| Bridal bouquet, loose, seasonal flowers | 1 | €150 |
| Buttonholes for groom and witness | 2 | €50 |
| Flower for the mothers (pin) | 2 | €80 |
| Arrangement for the ceremony table at the Comune | 1 | €120 |
| Foliage garland with flowers on the long tables | 10 metres | €500 |
| Delivery and set-up | flat fee | €120 |
| Breakdown | not needed, flowers go to guests | €0 |
| Subtotal before VAT | €1,020 | |
| VAT (example at 22%) | €224 | |
| Total | about €1,244 |
What to notice: even with few guests, the table garland is the biggest line. Flowers at the Comune (the town hall where civil weddings take place) must be agreed with the office, because rooms have tight time slots and often one wedding after another. Many florists have a minimum spend: below a certain amount the price per piece goes up. For the rules of town hall rooms, read the guide to flowers for a civil ceremony at the Comune.
Example 2: villa wedding with church, 120 guests
Church ceremony, reception at a villa half an hour away. Fourteen round tables, romantic garden style.
| Item | Quantity | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|
| Bridal bouquet | 1 | €220 |
| Throwing bouquet | 1 | €60 |
| Buttonholes | 6 | €150 |
| Corsages for mothers and witnesses | 4 | €160 |
| Church: altar arrangements | 2 | €500 |
| Church: pew ends (every other pew) | 12 | €420 |
| Church: floor vases at the entrance | 2 | €400 |
| Low centrepieces | 8 | €720 |
| Tall centrepieces on stands | 6 | €1,320 |
| Top table | 1 | €500 |
| Seating plan display with flowers | 1 | €300 |
| Hire of stands and candelabra | flat fee | €250 |
| Transport, set-up, church-to-villa move | flat fee | €400 |
| Late-night breakdown | flat fee | €250 |
| Subtotal before VAT | €5,650 | |
| VAT (example at 22%) | €1,243 | |
| Total | about €6,893 |
What to notice: centrepieces account for more than a third of the subtotal. Mixing low and tall pieces lowers the bill compared with tall ones only. The church entrance vases can move to the villa: here the cost of moving them sits inside the transport line. These pieces are covered in detail in the guides to what church flowers cost and to centrepiece prices.
Example 3: destination wedding, 80 guests
A couple from abroad, symbolic outdoor ceremony and dinner at long banquet tables at the same venue, a few hours from the florist's studio. Mediterranean style with citrus, olive and white flowers.
| Item | Quantity | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|
| Bouquet, buttonholes, bridesmaids' mini bouquets, corsages | set | €710 |
| Ceremony backdrop (arch with flowers and foliage) | 1 | €1,800 |
| Floor arrangements along the aisle | 10 | €600 |
| Foliage and flower garland on the long tables | 36 metres | €2,520 |
| Hire of glass cylinders and candles | flat fee | €400 |
| Moving the arch behind the top table | flat fee | €200 |
| Welcome sign with flowers | 1 | €250 |
| Team travel (3 people, 2 nights, travel) | flat fee | €1,200 |
| Set-up and breakdown | flat fee | €600 |
| Subtotal before VAT | €8,280 | |
| VAT (example at 22%) | €1,822 | |
| Total | about €10,102 |
What to notice: travel costs as much as a major design element. A florist based in the region might not charge it, but it is worth comparing style and working language too, not only price. For couples paying from abroad, bank fees and exchange rates also count. This is covered in the guide to the flower budget for a destination wedding.
What the three examples teach
| Micro wedding | Villa with church | Destination wedding | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biggest line | Tables | Centrepieces | Tables and ceremony backdrop |
| Weight of services | Low | Medium | High, because of travel |
| Room to save | Flowers to guests, no breakdown | Reuse from church, every other pew | Reuse the arch, more foliage, local team |
In all three cases the bouquet is a small part of the total. Service lines, on the other hand, grow with distance and complexity. That is why, when you ask for a quote, the most useful thing is to give the number of tables, distances and timings straight away.
How to adapt the examples to your wedding
Take the example closest to yours and change the quantities: number of tables, people in the bridal party, church pews. Then ask yourself what is different about your venue: distance, access, the time the party ends. These are the lines that move the total more than the flowers you choose. If a real quote is very different from the example, it is not necessarily wrong: ask the florist which items make the difference.
Questions to ask when you receive a real quote
- Do the quantities match the table plan?
- Are prices including or excluding VAT (IVA)? At what rate?
- Are transport, set-up and breakdown listed separately or built into the pieces?
- Are there hire items with a deposit?
- How many people and how many nights does the travel cover?
- Which pieces can be reused between ceremony and reception?
- Is the payment on signing an acconto or a caparra?
Final thoughts
To set a real offer beside these examples, use the method in the guide on how to read a florist's quote. For the overall picture of prices, see how much wedding flowers cost in Italy.
When you have your own details, request a quote: with date, venue, guests and tables you will receive offers structured like these examples and easy to compare.
